Job Purpose

Promotes a high performing business environment by managing administration, support and/or operations. Ensures excellent service levels and user satisfaction.

Essential Job Results

  • Promotes a high performing business environment by managing information technology solutions, administration, support or operations in one or more of the following areas:  Automated Testing, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment. Also promotes best practices in each of the aforementioned areas.
  • Promotes a positive culture among their team members. Oversees a team of six.
  • Ensures effective management and control in area of specialty by reviewing and approving policies, systems, methods and procedures.
  • Motivates and develops staff by assessing strengths and weaknesses and providing appropriate developmental and training opportunities.  Implements successful hiring and retention practices.
  • Drives continuous improvement by initiating projects to enhance system performance or processes.  Allocates appropriate resources and ensures alignment with departmental standards and IT strategy.  Ensures Change Control process is followed from development through implementation.  Delivers reliable high performance applications and technical services.
  • Develops and implements strategies to amplify DevOps and promote its adoption, implementation, and growth. Evangelizes others on the value of the DevOps culture.
  • Improves problem resolution and develops implementation strategies by interfacing with management, vendors and user groups.
  • Oversees effective documentation by implementing the necessary administrative procedures to monitor, log, and track technical problems and/or user difficulties.  Reports on system activities, functionality and staff performance.
  • Secures confidential data by approving procedures for controlling access to databases, systems and equipment.
  • Protects the Company by handling business sensitive information with appropriate confidentiality.

Experience

  • Four + years’ experience in DevOps, systems operations, or automation, including supervisory or management experience.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Financial/budgeting acumen.
  • ?Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate technical issues to all levels of management.
  • Working understanding and promotion of DevOps culture, including shift left, automation, continuous testing/integration/monitoring.

Work Schedule

  • Remote position, within the U.S., work from home.
