Job Description

Job Purpose:

  • Achieves the Company’s business growth objectives by developing relationships for new hotel projects and soliciting applications for new properties within an assigned marketing area.

Essential Job Results:

  • Attracts highly qualified, new properties to the Best Western brand by researching, developing, and executing effective sales and marketing methods.
  • Delivers business results by following-up on all leads and submitting applications that meet growth and quality requirements.
  • Compiles and analyzes complete economic, marketing, financial and statistical information, including photographs.
  • Identifies target for market penetration by evaluating current representation versus perceived needs.
  • Develops specific marketing plan as needed.
  • Performs analysis of market conditions, demographics and other essential characteristics of potential investments to determine optimal locations for the development of new properties, analyzing potential transactions using financial and business models.
  • Maintains currency in, and thorough understanding of, assigned market and market trends by reviewing professional and industry publications, establishing personal networks and benchmarking best practices.

Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years related experience, including management level assignments, in marketing or the hospitality industry.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Marketing, Advertising, Communications or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of hospitality development, including feasibility studies (market analysis and financial projections), blue prints and project evaluation.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and client database management.

  • Exerts a direct impact on costs, sales and/or profit.
  • Demonstrates financial and budgeting acumen.

  • Understands how the organization functions and maneuvers political situations.
  • Anticipates future trends.

Knowledge:

  • Sound competition and industry knowledge. Broad professional know-how to meet technical standards.
  • Deals with concepts and complexity comfortably.

Relationship Management:

  • Convinces others, both internal and external to organization, to accept new concepts and approaches.
  • Finds common ground and gains cooperation and agreement from others.
  • Communicates comfortably and effectively with high level external and internal contacts.

Problem Solving:

  • Resolves broadly defined problems by identifying root cause and identifying creative solutions.
  • Successfully manages multiple, diverse projects and/or processes.

Other Requirements:

  • May travel up to 80% of work time.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, serviceable automobile, and proof of insurance.
