Essential Job Results:

  • Oversees the development and delivery of training programs for hotels and corporate employees, ensuring alignment with brand standards and operational requirements. 
  • Evaluates content and success of training programs based on attendance, participant feedback,  implementation of concepts, and survey scores.
  • Leads the daily operations within the department, providing vision, direction, and feedback to team on the accomplishment of department goals and training initiatives.  Motivates and develops Learning & Development team by assessing performance and providing appropriate developmental opportunities.  Implements successful coaching, team building and retention practices.
  • Achieves budgetary and other performance goals through effective leadership methods, marketing of programs and timely response to participant and BWH senior leadership feedback.  Meets financial objectives of the department by preparing annual budgets and updates to forecast and ensuring cost-effective delivery of training programs.
  • Develops and executes a strategic vision for the training programs and LMS use. Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure the LMS is effectively integrated with other systems and tools.  Monitor and analyze LMS data to measure training effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in learning and development, including 5 years’ experience leading teams at the regional or corporate level. 
  • Strong experience with LMS management and strategic planning.
  • Instructional design experience preferred.
  • General Manager experience preferred.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hotel Administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Skills:

  • Current Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA), Certified Hotel Trainer (CHT) certification and/or ability to successfully complete upon hire.
  • Demonstrated financial and budgeting acumen with corresponding financial accountability.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated expertise in influencing and negotiating with divergent internal and external contacts.
  • Keen ability to interpolate results from multiple and varied information sources.
  • Strong stand-up presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated instructional development experience. 
  • High level organizational, project planning and coordination skills.
  • Employee career development and coaching.
  • Team development and assignment of duties.

Other Requirements:

  • Possesses excellent stand-up training and presentation skills.
  • Travel 50% of work time.
  • This position will have an office at our Headquarters location: 6201 North 24th Parkway, Phoenix, AZ 85016.
